UK Premiere

You may remember Peter Quilter’s name from 2017 when we staged his fabulous comedy “Glorious” about the life of the “opera” singer Florence Foster Jenkins. That was a hilarious evening and we’re back this time with the UK Premiere of one of his latest plays. We all perhaps have thought there is one novel inside us waiting to come out….

Well this is the story of three novelists, Maureen, Alex and Shelley who descend on a remote writer’s retreat to try and finish their latest “masterpieces”. Along with attempting to deal with their own versions of writer’s block they begin to act out key sequences in their novels - usually to huge comedic effect.

Alison Reid - who directed The King’s Speech for us last year and who starred in her one woman show An Elephant in The Garden is coming back to direct. Additionally, for those of you who saw Home I’m Darling - Tracy Collier, who played the indomitable mother in that production, is coming back to play Maureen.
