Anton Burge delighted us last year with Bette and Joan starring Greta Scacchi and Felicity Dean.
He loved the experience of putting on a new production of his writing in Frinton and so he immediately contacted me after the season to talk about his latest play concerning the last years of the iconic celebrity chef, Fanny Cradock. Few of us can forget her waltzing around a BBC studio in a lavish dress serving up delicious treats and basically telling us how to cook correctly. Often accompanied by her husband Johnnie and her rather silent assistant Carol - who basically did all the hard work. The BBC studio sessions were fantastically popular and this play charts Fanny at her height whilst acknowledging what brought about her fall.
I feel sure you will enjoy this wonderful nostalgic trip down a cooking memory lane.
